On an interview with Mr. Nobuaki Sasagaki (General Manager, Marketing Department of Nikon Japan) by Focus Numerique (translated version here), there will be new improvements on the near future that a simple firmware update will not be possible.

Here are some “rumored” specs about the replacement for the D90?

  • 16 Megapixel DX Sensor
  • Full HD (1080p)
  • New Video AF capability
  • 20 min video recording (upgrade from D90’s 5min)
  • 39 AF points
  • Dual SD card slots
  • Improved ISO similar to D700 (100 – 25600)
  • 6 fps Continuous Shooting
  • Magnesium-alloy body
  • Weather proof like D300s
  • Price: $1,199 (body only) or around Php 54,000


Rumored release date is on September 15 and the name could be Nikon D7000.

    I love this camera. Very easy to use. However, I did wish it would come with a memory card. Takes beautiful pictures.
