I have already witnessed a lot of fireworks display and took pictures of it. Taking photos of this magnificent pyro dsiplay is always a challenge. There’s no second take. What makes it even more challenging is when you don’t have a tripod. Your camera should be exposed at least a second to be able to capture the fireworks trail and design. Now if you don’t have a tripod, then good luck!
Before we went to SM Mall of Asia to watch the 2nd Philippine International Pyromusical Competition, we were at Clark, Pampanga in the morning for the 16th Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. We arrived at SM MOA in the afternoon and still undecided if we’re going to buy tickets for the show. Luckily there’s this couple who decided not to watch it for whatever reason and sold their tickets to us. They have Gold tickets (Php 200 each) and they sold it to us for only Php 150! Those with Gold tickets are positioned near the seawall and there are already a lot of people when we arrived.
The scheduled time for the event is at 7:00pm, but for the actual fireworks display, it started at around 8:00pm. First off was South Korea. Then there’s this 1 hour wait before Spain started with their pyromusical show. There is, however, a live band sponsored by Closeup to keep the audience entertained while waiting. By the way if you want to watch this pyromusical show for free just visit Closeup’s Facebook page for more info.
Below are some decent photos I took of the pyromusical show without any tripod. We actually have one, but it’s too small. Here’s my set…
