I am an ultimate Sisig fanatic. I have already tried different versions of it; with fresh eggs, with mayonnaise, spicy, some that are sour, a little sweet, a little oily, and those that are a little dry.
I first had a taste of this delicious dish during our internship in Clark, Pampanga and boy oh boy, I wanted to eat it everyday since then!
We went to Pampanga for the 16th Hot Air Balloon Fiesta and one of the top things on my itinerary while I was there, “Eat at Aling Lucings!”.
When we first arrived we didn’t go to the actual place yet which is in Angeles, instead we ate at the food court of SM City Clark and here’s what we ordered…
Sisig with Liempo and rice – Php 85.00
It tasted okay… not the kind of Sisig I was expecting. The next day after going to the HABFest we started to look for Aling Lucing’s in Angeles. We’ve asked several people and most of them doesn’t know where the restaurant is. I was surprised considering it is famous for its dish! Well I guess I should have been more clear as to where the address is when I asked. :D
Aling Lucing is located at Crossing, Valdez St., Angeles City, Pampanga. To go there, ride a jeepney going to Angeles City town proper (blue colored jeepney) and tell the driver to drop you off Crossing. Go to the other side of the street and that’s where the two-storey restaurant is. Hooray! Now I can finally taste the original Sisig of Aling Lucing.
As much as I am excited that I was already in the actual resto of Aling Lucing’s, their service didn’t really impressed me that much. We waited for more or less an hour; from waiting in line to order and upon serving of the food. It was okay, I forgive them for that, good thing I wasn’t starving! I’m not sure if it’s always like that or if it’s just during that time since it’s the HABFest.
Now the long wait is over… our Sisig is finally here and it’s definitely worth the wait ;)
